In a separate incident on Saturday, security company Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) spokesperson Prem Balram reported that a 26-year-old man was seriously injured after he was shot and stabbed multiple times.
Balram said Rusa received a call for assistance from an off-duty Sergeant from the KwaMashu SAPS requesting assistance for the injured male.
He said the officer informed the controller on duty that the scene was in the vicinity of a sugar cane plantation in Inanda but could not provide the exact location.
The Rusa Robinson R44 Helicopter lifted off from Verulam – KZN Helipad at approximately 4:08pm to assist in the search for the injured male. He was eventually located lying next to a sugar cane plantation,” he said.

In an incident on Friday, Balram said a man was seriously injured after he was allegedly stabbed by a friend during an argument in Cottonlands in KZN on Friday.
Balram said a white Hyundai H100 bakkie arrived at Rusa offices at approximately 2.34pm requesting assistance for the injured man who was bleeding profusely from a stab wound to his head.
“According to the victim, he and a friend began arguing when the suspect produced a knife and stabbed him. He then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim did not provide details of what led to the altercation,” he said.
