The Ngcobo village awoke on November 9 to the news that a mother named Nomboleko Simayile had murdered her children, ages 2 to 11, while they were sleeping.
After an investigation determined that their mother was responsible for their deaths, the four children, who ranged in age from two to eleven, are being laid to rest today in eNgcobo, in the Eastern Cape.
She is currently staying in the hospital while the rest of her family attends the funerals for her babies.
Nomboleko Simayile is alleged to be suffering from “mental health issues” as a result of the allegations that she killed her children by hitting them over the head with a hammer weighing four pounds while they were sleeping.
Nomboleko, age 32, is suspected of murdering her four children at their home in Tsalaba Village, which is located in Ngcobo.
She was scheduled to appear in court for a formal bail application before the Ngcobo Magistrate’s Court; however, the matter was postponed in her absence due to the fact that she became ill.
It is speculated that she passed out while being detained in the holding cells.
According to Luxolo Tyali, who is the spokesperson for the Eastern Cape National Prosecuting Authority, the matter will now be heard on November 29.
It has come to light that she is struggling with her mental health, and as a result, the state is requesting that she be sent to a mental institution for evaluation.
According to Luxolo, “Prosecutor Lindelwa Totyi informed the court that the state intends applying for the accused to be referred observation in accordance to Section 77 of the Criminal Procedure Act on her next appearance, as there is reasonable suspicion that she is not mentally fit to stand trial.” [Citation needed]
Aside from the members of the family, a neighbor named William Ndzena was the first witness to arrive at the site. He shared with Drum that the events he witnessed were making it difficult for him to fall asleep.
There was blood everywhere, and based on what I saw, it appeared as though she started with the older ones because, if she had started with the younger ones, they would have screamed for help.
“However, it appears that the five-year-old child made an attempt to flee because, unlike his brothers, he was not hiding under the covers. It seemed as though they were all sleeping on their sides, and she appeared to hit each of them behind the ears; however, he was located some distance away from the covers. However, it appears that each of them was struck in more or less the same location.

The dwelling is typical of a village and consists of two mud rondavels and a concrete structure with three rooms.
There is nothing remarkable about this house in the Tsalaba settlement in the Ngcobo area of the Eastern Cape.
On any other day, the four youngsters who named this place their home would be bustling around the yard, getting ready to head off to school.
On the other hand, on the morning of November 9th, the town awoke to the news that the mother of the children, who ranged in age from two to eleven years old, had murdered them with a hammer while they were sleeping.
Nomboleko Simayile, who is now 32 years old, is suspected of murdering her children. Approximately two months had passed since she had moved back in with her folks.
William Ndzena, a neighbor of the Simayile family, claims that he was summoned to rush over there, but nothing could have prepared him for what he witnessed when he arrived.
There were the lifeless remains of four little children who had been his friends due to the fact that they played with his grandchild and called him tamkhulu (grandfather).
They had not yet emerged from beneath the blankets “says the gentleman who is 65 years old.
“There was blood everywhere you looked. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced or observed in the past.
“I was unable to look carefully since it took too long, imasikizi lento yenzeke apha (what happened here is an abomination). As I approached this location, both of her parents were sobbing, and she was found sobbing into the palms of her hands while sitting on a bunk stoel.
Without wasting any time, I dialed the number of the neighborhood police chief and the ward councillor. I requested that the ward councillor go to the charge office so that the police may get at this location as soon as possible. After that, I returned to the interior of the rondavel.
“There was blood all over the place, and based on my observations, it appeared as though she began by stabbing the bigger children first. If she hadn’t, the younger children would have screamed for assistance.
“However, given that the five-year-old child was not hiding under the covers like his brothers, it appears that he made an attempt to flee. It seemed as though they were all sleeping on their sides, and she appeared to hit each of them behind the ears; however, he was located some distance away from the covers. However, it appears that each of them was struck in more or less the same location.
William tells Drum that the family is poor and that they cook and sleep on the floor due to their circumstances.
Nomboleko is a member of a Ngcobo family now thanks to her marriage. However, she resided in Cape Town for a significant portion of her married life with her husband. She had her two elder children before she married, and then she had her younger children with her spouse after they were married.
“According to her father, when they went to bed the night before everything was fine, and no one could have guessed that she would commit such an act,” William continues. “No one could have guessed that she would commit such an act.”
After waiting for an hour, the cops finally arrived at the house.
The forensic team that had traveled from Mthatha had arrived shortly after one o’clock in the afternoon.
“All that was required of us was to secure the lower entrance of the rondavel, and once the authorities arrived, they wrapped police tape around the area and took photographs.”
“Following the completion of the forensics team’s work, the family was then given permission to re-enter the room in order to have a conversation with the deceased children in accordance with our tradition and beliefs. The bodies were removed after a brief prayer, and then they were laid to rest.”
Nomboleko had a brief court appearance at the Ngcobo Magistrates Court where he is being charged with four charges of murder.
The hearing for the official bail application was swiftly continued to November 17 after it was postponed.
According to Luxolo Tyali, who works as a spokeswoman for the Eastern Cape National Prosecuting Authority, the state would fight the request for release.
