“People From Pretoria Don’t Respect Black Lives, To Them A Black Life Does Not Matter”

Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema has lashed out at Pretorians for not respecting the lives of black people.

This follows after the fatal shooting of amapiano star and businessman Oupa Sefoka, affectionately known to many as DJ Sumbody. The DJ’s life was cut short after he was gunned down in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, 20 November 2022 in Woodmeand while he was on his way to a gig with his bodyguard.

On Saturday, his friends, family, and industry colleagues gathered in Ga Masemola, Limpopo, to bid their final farewells to him. Malema who was also in attendance paid tribute to him. In a statement, the EFF leader questioned why the Police Minister, Bheki Cele has failed to activate a 72-hour plan to locate the killers of DJ Sumbody.

He also criticized Pretorians for not respecting black lives. “People from Pretoria don’t respect a black life. To them, a black life does not matter,” he said.

He added, “If DJ Sumbody was owing someone money and that person killed him because of it, that fool must know that they won’t get the money anymore.”

In his plea to police, Malema urged them to investigate the case and bring the perpetrators to justice.

According to Dj Sumbody's brother, they've attempted to take his life three times. This time they've succeeded 😭😭
