Bongani Mohosana speaks up

The Forbes family announced earlier in the week that DJ Znhle’s husband, Bongani Mohosana, better known by his stage name Morda, would not attend the funeral and memorial service.

Who is ‘Sim Dope’ Gumede? – AKA memorial

“…Bongani Mohosana will be absent from the memorial service and funeral due to cultural protocol,” read the statement. Bongani Mohosana will not attend the funeral and memorial service for AKA. This decision triggered a discussion on social media over what this cultural procedure could be and which South African cultures observe such customs.

A few days later, on Saturday, Morda penned a heartfelt homage to AKA by publishing old photographs of the rapper cradling his daughter Kairo Forbes. “Dear Kiernan, I took a little longer than necessary to compose this, but the truth is that I was at a loss for words. As a fellow musician, thank you for inspiring us all to achieve better and for constantly demonstrating your passion for music via the quality of your work. Your catalog will be among the greatest catalogs ever produced. “As a guy, I learnt something very essential from you: always realize your worth, regardless of what occurs in your life. You were an incredible father; you did everything for Kairo, and this is evident in the love she possesses. Your legacy will endure, and may you rest in peace with the countless luminaries we revere.
